Road kill the day after the BBQ. Not where we got our meat.

 Friendly bull guarding the accommodation

Friends in the toilet. They emit a sweet leafy smell to the bathroom.

The 1000 km dirve of the WA outback.

The Final Journey - A funeral in Fremantle

The last tea ceremony so that grandchildren can be blessed before passing on to the castle in the sky.

The funeral parlor 4 days later on the 4th of the month 2014.

Burning the incense for a buddhist farewell. Nothing fancy compared to the in house fluted fireplaces in larger cities like Melbourne.

Arriving at the cemetery in Fremantle in the hearse followed by the stretch limousine for 7.

The last drive to the crematorium.

At the wake in the Chocolateria San Churro that evening. Lots of chocolate dips, hot chocolates and churros to replenish the low sugar supply after the long day.

What kept our energy levels up. The churros and the samba music for more then 20 people so we could celebrate the passing of a good man. No calorie counter tonight.

Gifts for colleagues who had helped with the the final few weeks.

Buddhist farewell & prayers were performed by close friends. Apparently a donation of $1500 is provided for the temple of buddhist monks who attend according to a friend from Melbourne.

Collect the ashes from the crematorium then a final journey by plane for a burial in the family plot in the northern hemisphere far far away.

Sydney Stamford Airport Hotel

Interstate meeting near Sydney Airport. Everyone flies in then flies out.

The cost of petrol on Monday on the way to the airport to get flight to Sydney.

Arrive at Sydney airport after 5 hour flight. At $1.39 per litre I would have saved about $3 by riding to catch my plane that day.

View from Stamford hotel next to airport. See http://www.stamford.com.au/ssa for more info on hotel.

The hotel room - sound proof as I could not hear the aircraft taking off when in the room at night.

$220 per night. Good for meetings or transit not for CBD meetings as you have to catch the train to the CBD for about $16 one way trip. Everyone else flew in for the meeting in the morning and some were able to fly home again at the end of the day's meeting.

Dinner at the Din Tai Fung restaurant in Central Park for evening Dim Sum - not used to this concept but dumplings were good. 3 of us shared the food see their web site http://www.dintaifungaustralia.com.au/central-park

Central Park

After dinner we went for coffee at the Hyatt Hotel at the Rocks with the friends from out of town too. See the website of this http://sydney.park.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html which has 155 suites with great views.

Park Hyatt Sydney Hotel Exterior

View from the lobby of the Hyatt at night.

Nice quiet place for an evening drink with the water views in the Hyatt lobby. .

Dinner next night at Ippudo Ramen in Central Park Sydney next to the Central train Station with friends from out of town.

Went shopping then had supper at Fu Machu restaurant in Darlinghurst next to King's Cross train station. My colleague from out of town had to recharge after a big day out.

The menu at Fu Manchu restaurant. Apparently the Penang fried kueh teow had a sweet taste to it.

Good nights sleep back at Stamford after catching the $16 airport express then fly home the next night. Two good nights in Sydney with out of towners.
