Confit Du Canard

We bought this confit duck for dinner at our apartohotel adagio in Montmartre. After draining the oil we microwaved the 3 large pieces of duck for 2 minutes. This drained of the fat. We then pan fried the duck till crisp on out side.
Served with potatoes and cooked vegetables.

Busy butcher with rotisserie. We had chicken for €10 per kg and baked potatoes. The chicken cost €15.
Also sells seasoned meats.
On our way to Louvre and Seine river every day.

Rotisserie Lalie Paris

At number 1 Rue St Lazare. Only does great roast chickens on a rotisserie which is wall mounted. 2 of them on premises. We ordered 2 large chickens for €26. With roast potatoes was €30 in total. Really juicy chicken breast. Mild flavors so ready to go with avocados for sandwiches or salads. The roast potatoes were light and fluffy. The2 chickens and potatoes really made the meal in our apartment in Montmartre. Good for dinner after a big day at the Eiffel tower or arc de triomphe.

Galeries Lafayette Gourmet food

We had cabita prosciutto for €6. Baguette Jabugo for €12. Ham was carved very fine from leg ham. Bread was crusty. Also had sauce. The jambon fat melted in the mouth. We went up to the top floor over the road  to eat. You can't eat the takeaway food on Lafayette gourmet premises. The quiches were €3.5 cooked crusty. So a very dry style. Good as it had low salt and not too much cheese.

Eiffel Tower Paris

We walked up to the 2nd level. £6. Then caught the lift as no further walking allowed for another £6. Line for walking is shorter but have to be fit. Have to be patient if lots of climbers. There's an ice skating rink on 1st level on way up. 2 restaurants at the top. We were going to eat there as queue was not too long but the menu was a set menu for lunch.  Great for teenagers and view spectacular on clear wintery day.

London Eye

30 mins per cycle. £24 per ticket for adults. We were lucky there were no crowd s. You can pay £31 for an express ticket. Cloudy or rainy days can be a problem. Worth a visit if you haven't been on ferris wheels. Good views

Tower Bridge London

Had a family ticket for under £30. The lift ride up is a tight squeeze. The tour was well signposted. The tour design made the most of the utilitarian building built for work only. There was a bridge exhibition. The glass walk ways above the bridge looking onto the street below was scary but showed off the wonder of the scale of the design. Good photos of East & West London from camera slots on walkways 150m above Thames River. We couldn't quite understand how the steam engine lifted the bridge bollards but there in lies the mystery of the engineering feat. Must do for young teens doing an engineering degree.

British Museum London

Have been to London 3 times previously. First time to the BM. What a find. Took 3 teenagers. They didn't read everything but walked the whole museum which took 4 hours. We were really surprised by how large the collection & how much effort had been put into collecting the exhibits. Wish I could spend more than an afternoon here. I found the summaries or abstracts next to the exhibits well written an easy to follow. The efforts of the archaeologists and collectors have to be applauded. Without them or the funding and support of the British people we wouldn't have this record of history.
