Hilton KL vs Singapore

Hilton KL then Hilton Singapore the next day. An opportunity to compare services. On checking in at KL Hilton you are served guava juice and a cold towel.

The pool in KL has orchid's on the pool towels. The pool has water features and pool slide and winds around the hotel on level 8.

The pool in Singapore is on level 24 and has a more traditional central position on the top floor.

The event on Orchard road close to Hilton Singapore. Next to MRT Orchard station.

KL Hilton is next to KL Sentral train station with direct line to KL international airport.

An event in KL.

On checking out Hilton Singapore has electronic sign off panel for credit cards.

Backpackers Inn Chinatown Singapore

On a 12 hour layover in Singapore. So took the train to Chinatown Inn.

Had a good nap, shower and managed to get some rest. This was not the facility on Mosque st but in a street behind it. Reception is on Mosques st. There is not actually a room. It is an alcove in a passage way with 3 double bunk beds. No door to passageway just a curtain. This is good as it allows the air to circulate.

Air con was adequate. There were also bunks in the passageway.  There was wifi, communal recharging station and a lamp on the bunk. Two showers cum toilet in the annexed building.

Useful to have ear plugs as all the rooms or alcoves open into the passageway. Close to people's park for hawker food, shopping and money exchange.

Emirates Lounge Singapore Changi Airport

Nice food. Old world 1970s ambiance. Oasis for the Emir in busy Singapore.

Lovely cold salad selections.

I just finished function in Spore where they served beef and lamb. I got to the Emirates Lounge 2 hours before my flight. It is in Terminal 1 near "C" departure doors. The food was good. I had a tasting sample sambal prawn, fillet mignon, kung po chicken. Tempted to order the dim sum(not ready available on buffet) but decided to have a shower. This was a 4 heead shower with 1 on the top and 3 for the body. Towel packs all ready. After the shower I had salty  nuts and a fruit drink. The desserts looked amazing but I decided to stay on a healthy diet. We had some fruit. Also read the paper. Lounge was spacious and had an old world feel of wood and leather chairs. Different ambience to the more modern design of other lounges I had been to in Spore Changi Airport.
